Types of patios we install

Every patio starts with how you want to use the space—grilling, entertaining, poolside lounging, customer seating, or employee break areas. We help you choose the right base, surface, and layout so the patio performs well and stays comfortable year-round.

  • Concrete patios (broom finish, smooth, or decorative)
  • Stamped concrete (stone, slate, brick, and custom patterns)
  • Paver patios (herringbone, running bond, borders, inlays)
  • Stone or brick patios (natural stone, flagstone, brick pavers)
  • Gravel patios (budget-friendly with proper edging + base)
  • Tile patios (where appropriate for covered areas)
  • Covered patios + pergolas (shade structures, roof tie-ins)
  • Outdoor living builds (kitchens, fire features, seating walls)

Materials & surface options

We’ll recommend the best surface based on your budget, soil conditions, drainage, and how you’ll use the patio (foot traffic, furniture, grills, pool water, or commercial use).

Concrete

A clean, durable option for most homes and businesses. We focus on base prep, reinforcement where needed, control joints, and proper slope away from structures.

Pavers / brick / stone

Great for custom patterns and easy spot repairs. A properly compacted base and edge restraint are key to preventing shifting.

Stamped concrete

Decorative finishes that mimic stone, slate, or brick. We can also add color, borders, and sealing for easier cleaning.

Also available (where relevant): tile for covered patios, gravel with edging, and composite/decking surfaces when the project blends into a deck or raised outdoor platform.

Design options & outdoor living features

A patio can be simple and functional—or it can become a full outdoor living room. We’ll help you plan the layout so it feels natural from the back door, works with your yard, and supports how you entertain.

  • Covered patios (roof tie-ins, freestanding covers)
  • Pergolas for shade + style
  • Outdoor kitchens (grill zones, counters, storage)
  • Fire pits / fireplaces with safe clearances
  • Seating walls and built-in benches
  • Lighting for safety and ambiance
  • Walkways that connect patio, driveway, and yard

Want a full backyard upgrade? Pair your patio with decking, fencing, or outdoor lighting.

Drainage, grading & long-term performance

In Texas, drainage matters. A patio that looks great but holds water can lead to settling, staining, slippery surfaces, and foundation issues. We plan slope, base, and runoff so water moves away from structures and high-traffic areas.

  • Proper grading and slope away from the home/building
  • Compacted base to reduce settling
  • Control joints and reinforcement where needed
  • Edge restraint for pavers to prevent spreading
  • Drainage solutions when required (swales, channel drains)

Our patio installation process

1) Site visit & design

We measure, discuss how you’ll use the space, review drainage, and confirm surface/material options.

2) Prep & base

Excavation, grading, and base compaction. For concrete, we set forms and reinforcement. For pavers, we build the base and edge restraint.

3) Install & finish

Pour/finish concrete or set pavers/stone, then finalize joints, edges, and cleanup. Decorative surfaces may be sealed for protection.

4) Walkthrough

We review drainage, surface finish, and care instructions so you know what to expect as the patio cures and settles.

Typical timelines

  • Simple concrete patio: often 1–3 days (plus cure time)
  • Paver patio: often 2–5 days depending on size/pattern
  • Covered patio/pergola: varies based on structure and finishes

Permits & HOA considerations

Some cities and HOAs have rules around patio covers, roof tie-ins, setbacks, drainage, and exterior finishes. If your project needs approvals, we’ll help you plan the scope and documentation so the build stays on track.

Maintenance & care

  • Concrete: rinse regularly, use mild cleaners, reseal decorative finishes as needed
  • Pavers: sweep sand joints, control weeds, re-sand/reseal when required
  • Stone/brick: avoid harsh acids, spot-clean stains early
  • Drainage: keep channels and edges clear so water can move away

FAQs

How much does a patio cost in Texas?

Pricing depends on size, surface type, base prep, access, and upgrades like covers, lighting, or outdoor kitchens. Contact us for a fast quote.

What patio surface lasts the longest?

Concrete and properly installed pavers both perform very well. The best choice depends on soil conditions, drainage, and how you’ll use the space.

Do I need a permit for a patio or patio cover?

Many basic flatwork patios don’t require permits, but covers, roof tie-ins, and electrical often do. Requirements vary by city and HOA.

How do you prevent water from pooling on a patio?

We plan slope, grading, and drainage so water moves away from structures. For some sites, channel drains or additional grading may be recommended.
